Year of construction: 1800/1900
It is a venetian gothic style building located in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the historic center of Bari, built in late 1800 and early 1900, on design of talented architects as the Architect Bernich and Architect Corradini. It has a floor area of 3.000 square meters, in addition to the inner courtyard which is leading the beautiful Fountain of Neptune.
It consists of a ground floor and three upper floors ending with a beautiful veranda with pointed arches, whose colonnade supports the valuable and important cornice. It is all fully restored and decorated with stucco, from the fourteenth-century salon and the pink salon to the exhibition of arts and labor salon and the fireplace room.
The ground floor has large rooms with vaulted ceilings and beautiful stained glass, windows, interior doors and woodwork.
The first floor includes four central halls, three of them are related to each other, and you can reach the fourth one through the waiting room. These halls are joined by six other rooms decorated in different styles as it is typical of eclecticism.
The second floor was recently renovated. In particular, the lounge of the apartment on the right presents a valuable venetian mosaic floor.
The third floor, which is also luxuriously restored is equipped with air conditioning, alarm systems, fiber optic connections and network, telephone equipment switchboard. And it is characterized by a monumental portico that runs along the front, with pointed arched walls and ceiling paintings and marble floors. It overlooks the city skyline and the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
Fizzarotti palace is now an elegant and a valuable cultural venue for events of great national and international interest and the subject of interesting studies about Ecletism in 2006 with two exhibitions and conferences about the interesting figure of Architect Bernich, designer and creator of the Palace.
